Artificial intelligence and our way to it.
“As part of the needs we were contacted by lumberjacks, who often faced the challenge caused by, for example, poor-quality input material during hammering, we needed to ensure that the pallets produced by our machine were really properly hammered without having to stand at the line. and inspect each of those pallets separately. We used an automatic system that alerts the operator if a nail does not pass through the tube leading to the hammers. But we also needed a system that would check that the nail was not coming out. Then the goods that are placed on the pallet could be damaged, ”explains the company's sales manager and wood technologist Jaroslav Začal.
When pushing nails automatically, it may happen that the nail is not pushed in correctly due to the error of hammering the pallets in the presence of knots and the reduced quality of the material used.
The camera system continuously scans the line and analyzes the image with software. It uses artificial intelligence algorithms.
In this case, the software is taught to check the beaten pallet (looks for anomalies - unpressed nail, defective conditions). If this condition occurs, it is signaled to the operator by light and acoustic signaling.
The system thus provides additional output quality control.
